Over the course of his career, he has attained various remarkable achievements in the field of Science and Technology with a major focus on Agricultural Development. In 1998 he worked as the Director of Appropriate Technology and Community Development Institute, PNG, North Australia. From 1998-2000, he worked as the Director of Operations of F.E.A.P. Hq, Abuja, Nigeria.

Taiwo Francis Akerele is the Chief of Staff to the Edo State government, a position he has been occupying for over 2 years and still counting. He was the Project Coordinator for the World Bank Public Financial Management and Youth employment Program for Edo State up until he assumed the position he now occupies. He also served as Senior Policy Economist to the Governor from 2008 to 2011.
Taiwo trained at Harvard University, Massachusetts USA, Carlton University, Ottawa Canada, Stellenbosch University Cape Town South Africa, World Bank Institute Washington DC, the University of Ibadan and the University of Benin.
With an experience that spans over 10 years in the banking sector, Taiwo previously worked at the UBA (Strategy Group), FCMB (credit), Afribank (market intelligence) which is known as the old Fidelity Union Merchant Bank and the Lagos Business School. He was a founding member of the Center for Values in Leadership.
In his capacity as World Bank coordinator for Edo State, the administrator midwifed the PFM laws, the procurement laws, the néw audit laws, and the budget reform program for the state. As of 2016, the program had employed over 4,000 youths involved in public works program across Edo state.
